5th Revolver Golden Gods Awards [Focus]
Cette nuit (2 Mai 2013) a eu lieu la cinquième édition des Revolver Golden Gods Awards. Cette remise de prix parrainée par le magazine américain Revolver a vu les prestations cette année de METALLICA, STONE SOUR ou DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN entre autres.
L'évènement a été diffusé en direct cette nuit (à partie de 4h du matin, heure française) et bien qu'un futur replay soit sans doute disponible sous peu je ne peux m'empêcher de vous en compter quelques mots ... à partir de mon live tweet nocturne ...
Avant la cérémonie, nous avons donc eu le droit à l'interview de fans venus voir leurs idoles mais aussi et plus interessant quelques courtes interviews menées par Sebastian Bach sur le "Black Carpet" (le tapis rouge version metal donc...)

Au bout d'une heure d'entrevues, la cérémonie à proprement parlée commence et entre les remises de prix nous avons le droit à la prestation en live de groupes pour 3/4 titres avec souvent une reprise et l'apparition d'un guest pour pimenter le tout.

Après le classique "Caught in a Mosh" (qui commence avec un Belladonna peu audible et une qualité de stream assez médiocre) et un titre issu du dernier album ("Fight Em Till You Can't"), les new yorkais sont rejoints par de vieilles connaissances : Rex Brown et Phil Anselmo. L'arpège de "This Love" se fait entendre. Ce n'est certe pas la première fois que les ex PANTERA reprennent un de leurs vieux titres avec leurs potes de NYC (remember les Metal Masters) mais qu'est ce que c'est jouissif d'entendre Anselmo renouer avec son passé! On notera aussi une prestation appliquée du guitariste de SHADOWS FALL (remplaçant Caggiano dans ANTHRAX) pour coller au solo de Dimebag ...

Les gars de TESTAMENT nous présentent alors le groupe qui va littéralement enflammer la salle au propre comme au figuré: DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN! Le groupe est survolté et se fait pas prier pour déployer le jeu de scène d’épileptiques qu'on leur connait. C'est finalement sur Rob Halford de JUDAS PRIEST que s'est porté leur choix et le Metal Gods les épaulera comme pour leur gig des 30 ans sur une reprise de "Rapid Fire"!
