THE ANGELS @ Vauréal (Le Forum)

Ravis de cet accueil, THE ANGELS va rendre coup pour coup en jouant tube sur tube : « Fashion And Fame », « I Ain't The One », « No Secrets », « Be With You », « Face The Day »...

Les frères Brewster attaquent « Dogs Are Talking » puis le classique « Can't Shake It » sans sourciller.

« Unbelievable show at Le Forum, Paris. Two « encores ». Full house singing all of Rick's lead lines like a full stadium of soccer fans. They knew all the lyrics, all the response chants. They sung the French lyrics in the real accent. Two crazy hours of insane rock fans going off. We can't wait to go back. Vive le Rock ! ».

First visit to France since 1981. THE ANGELS (better known among us under the name ANGEL CITY) came, played and conquered! The Forum of Vauréal was, on June 4, the scene of a rare sight. From one of these concerts which the spectator said "Fuck, I experienced something there. ".
The group attack head-on with a triplet composed of ums "After The Rain", "Shadow Boxer" and "Comin 'Down" ... The group is pleasantly surprised by the reaction of the public who sang with Dave Gleeson from the first words of "After The Rain"! Winks accomplices exchanged between musicians indicate.
Delighted by this welcome, THE ANGELS going to hit back playing pipe to pipe: "Fashion And Fame", "I Is not The One", "No Secrets", "Be With You", "Face The Day". .. The temperature rises crescendo under the leadership of Dave Gleeson (ex-SCREAMING JETS), very close to the public voice. The "Angels, Angels, Angels! ..." Course room of Vauréal. What about flawless interpretation of punkoïde "Mr Damage"? Just great! Best of all, grandfathers of Australian rock played the famous "La Grange" by ZZ TOP ... John Brewster shows that he is as comfortable with a guitar in hand harmonica.

Dave Gleeson is also a grinning clown said. He often plays with the audience as the "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again" during which the audience shouts the now legendary "No way, get fucked, fuck off! ". In my opinion, one of the highlight of the set. It must be said that this title, first single released by the band, is the classic of classics. Sincere emotional moment when the band and the audience then make a tribute to "friends" disappeared (Doc Neeson, with whom they founded the group in 1974, and Chris Bailey). Glass of red wine in hand, John Brewster drink with their minds! The group takes the lead at a brisk pace with the safe bets "Take a Long Line" and "Marseilles".

Still screaming "Angels, Angels, Angels! ..." The public demands the recall. The Brewster brothers attacked "Dogs Are Talking" and the classic "Can not Shake It" stride. In the second return (yes, there were two, so the public was good), assistance was entitled to "Straight Jacket" followed by a "Ivorie Stair" families!
After two hours of concert, the lights come back nicely and the public towards the bar and the merchandising stand for a souvenir.

Throughout the concert, the audience was warm to literally and figuratively (The Forum is a real oven!). For two hours he sang, shook his head, stirred and roared his joy to witness a great event. The many fans who were present at the Forum Vauréal celebrated the winning return of THE ANGELS giving voice. The brothers Rick and John Brewster (his offspring Sam plays bass on this tour), old friends, have demonstrated that the time has no hold on them. Smiling, musicians came to meet their fans at the end of the set, signing autographs with shovels and being photographed from all angles.

And finally, here is what the group has posted on his Facebook page the evening of the concert:

"Unbelievable show at The Forum, Paris. Two "encores". Full house singing all of Rick's lead lines like a stadium full of soccer fans. They Knew all the lyrics, all the response chants. They sung the lyrics in the real French accent. Two hours of crazy insane rock fans going off. We can not wait to go back. Long live Rock! ".
